Little Joseph Herrera fished the kids lagoon today and landed this 13.14lb Common Carp! The big Carp was caught using Mackeral for bait. Carp are world renowned for their hard fighting and toughness to catch. They are by far the worlds most popular game fish!

rack up this hefty stringer of Irvine Lake catfish. These whiskerfish averaged just under 10-pound a fish and were

Nick used Macerkal doused in Bite On Cajun to catch this 17.0lb and 14.6lb Channel Cats. Since both fish where full of eggs Nick released both fish to spawn and further progress Irvine Lake's trophy Catfish population.

Chris Mason, pro staff for Phenix Rods, Diawa Reels, Pink Fishing and Bass Knuckles, hit up Irvine Lake recently and caught this 10.2lb Largemouth Bass while fishing a Calibama Rig with Keitech Swimbaits attached to it. Thie fish was photographed and then released for another angler to enjoy one day.

Last year our Lagoon sign blew away in a very bad wind storm.
The sign blew away, broke into pieces, and it appeared to be lost forever.
Fortunately our lead mechanic Dave Quast, and his assistant Johnny Gilabert had different ideas.
They picked up all the pieces, put it all back together, refurbished, repainted and remounted the sign.
The sign is important to Irvine Lake because it is a piece of our history, it marked the day the kids Lagoon was opened,
and it is dedicated to the special volunteer who built it, Mr. Frank Aguilera of Orange.
The sign is beautiful again and back where it belongs in front of the Kids Lagoon.

Here are two pics of the 7.35lber caught on Chartreuse Gulp Pinched Crawler back in the flats yesterday anchored in 10 feet of water. This five fish limit weighed 17.05. All were caught between 12:45 and 3pm.

Just got this picture emailed to us along with a very nice email.
My sons are Justin and Spencer Giddings. You weighed the trout at 4.65lb and we caught it shore fishing in Santiago Flats. The rig was a yellow salmon egg with a green and brown worm. Unfortunately we did not enter the contest. Lesson learned.

Dominick and Devin Cooper of Orange landed this fine stringer of Rainbow Trout while fishing the West Shore today with their dad Isacc Cooper. They reported catching their fish on Garlic and Hatechery Pellet Powerbait mixed together , they called it the Steve Hiramatsu Special.
